BOOK TALK: “NIMBU SAAB – THE BAREFOOT NAGA KARGIL HERO”
Date: April 11, 2025 | Venue: Conference Hall, KSCJ
Today, Kohima Science College came together for a deeply emotional tribute to Late Captain Neikezhakuo Kengurüse, in a Book Talk organized by his family in collaboration with the Literary Committee, KSCJ.
With Dr. Seyiekhrielie Whiso as chairperson and a heartfelt welcome by Mrs. Aleno Doulo, the event opened with reflections on Captain Kengurüse’s vibrant student life and leadership at the college.
But the most moving moment came when Neingutoulie Kenguruse, the Captain’s younger brother, shared his heart. Through trembling words and teary eyes, he took us on a journey of growing up with his brother, of silent struggles, and of the quiet strength that shaped a boy into a hero. He spoke not just about his achievements but about the human behind the uniform, a brother whose love, discipline, and courage live on through every page of the book.
A soulful musical tribute by Neichinuo and Viketoulie Kenguruse added to the atmosphere of love, loss, and pride that filled the room.
It was more than a book talk. It was a moment of remembrance, of shared grief and enduring honor, a celebration of a hero who walked barefoot but left behind footprints that will never fade.
