DEPARTMENT OF GEOLOGY
Brief Profile
Department of Geology was founded in 1967. Until recently, it has been one of the only places in NE India where undergraduate course in the field was offered and thus occupied, and still occupies, an important place in manpower supply chain to GSI, ONGC and related fields in state. It also offers post graduate programme of study. Ongoing researches are mainly focused on Stratigraphy, palaeobiology, Geohazard and Hydrogeology.
